Who we are

At Soil & Salt Sauna, we believe in slowing down, grounding deeply, and reconnecting with what matters most — nature, community, family, and self.

Founded by Locryn and Sophie on our familys 5th-generation farm, Soil & Salt was born from a shared love of simple rituals and wild places. Our name reflects what we stand for. Soil represents grounding and growth, but also regrowth — where things begin, where they are nurtured, and where they return. Salt carries the breath of the sea — wind-swept, fresh, and alive — evoking renewal, cleansing, and the quiet, untamed power of the ocean.

Together, these elements shape an experience that is both restorative and real. We give and take in equal measure, like the Bucca — a balance of offering and receiving, of land and spirit.

This is a space that invites you to pause. Whether you are stepping into the heat, plunging into cold water, swinging gently in a hammock, or sitting quietly between cycles, you are welcome to simply be. To breathe, reset, and return.

There is no rush here. No distractions (aside from the occasional pig). Just fire, water, and time.

Soil & Salt Sauna isn’t just about sweating — it’s about coming back into balance, to a place where the wilder things are still celebrated..

A woman smiling outdoors on a grassy hilltop holding a map, wearing a blue jacket, black pants, and hiking shoes, with large rocks behind her and a scenic landscape of fields and sky in the background.
A man dressed in outdoor climbing gear, wearing a helmet and harness, sitting on a rocky cliffside near the ocean with a lighthouse in the distance under a cloudy sky.
A couple with a golden retriever puppy inside a stone archway. The woman has long, light brown hair and is wearing a denim jacket. The man has short dark hair and is wearing a white sweatshirt. The dog is sitting in front of them, facing forward with its mouth slightly open. The setting appears to be outdoors, with the stone structure showing signs of age and weathering.

Our family moved to Presingoll in the 1800’s, before that a farm near Camborne, before that a farm near Ludgvan. Our roots are deep in the soil. In modern days, our family have gone from using a horse and plough 40 years ago, to modern GPS tractors. My Dad (Mark) and Uncle (Andy) have championed regenerative farming for over 20 years, creating a farm that is lush, vibrant and teeming with bio diversity. My sister, Inez, follows in the footsteps and together they have won multiple awards for sustainability, being a minimal till farm and more recently a Carbon Negative farm.
